"Nuove Frontiere Lavoro", in collaboration with the training organization "Idee Insieme" and thanks to the "Formatemp" fund, is publishing a "Receptionist in German level A1" course on an online platform.
Among the professions indicated by ISFOL, the figure is indicated of the ReceptionistThis role welcomes and registers guests at the facilities; provides accommodation services; assigns rooms and hands out keys; provides information on the services offered; manages reservations and check-in and check-out procedures, keeps track of available rooms; and performs guest check-out procedures and prepares the relevant documentation.
ISFOL identifies the need for foreign languages among the main areas of professional development expressed by companies and in the period 2018-2022, for the macro area indicated above, it forecasts a variation in employed people equal to 12,0%, a value above the average growth in the period (2,5%). Furthermore, despite the setback caused by the pandemic, Covid-19, the growth of tourism in Italy by users coming from all over the world will generate a very high demand for this figure in order to have particularly trained personnel not only in the skills indicated above but contextualised to the linguistic field mentioned above (industry terminology, idioms, approach to that type of customer, etc.)
TARGETS:
The course aims to provide the appropriate linguistic skills for professionals in the hospitality sector, following a guideline consistent with that outlined by ISFOL.
At the end of the course, students will be able to manage German-speaking customers, acquiring the following skills:

DURATION: 156 ORAnd from the day 2 OCTOBER to 24 NOVEMBER 2023 – 39 4-hour days in the VIRTUAL CLASSROOM (online);
CERTIFICATE: of frequency (minimum 70% of total hours including attendance at mandatory lessons);
VIRTUAL CLASSROOM LESSONS: from Monday to Friday from 09.30am to 13.30pm;

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS: the course is aimed at candidates for temporary work missions (both unemployed and jobless) registered and selected from the Employment Agency;
- for foreigners, knowledge of the Italian language and grammar, even if NOT certified;
- you need to have a desktop PC (desktop), laptop or tablet with a stable connection, webcam and microphone;
SELECTION METHOD: Access to the course will take place through several preliminary steps:
- Correct submission of the required documentation;
- Analysis of the CV submitted;
- Check the connection devices to be carried out in videoconference;
SELECTIONS: Those who have joined will be contacted by email for the confirmation (by 27/09/2023 at 6:00 PM) of the verification of videoconferencing connection devices scheduled for the day January 28, 2023, from 09:10.30 a.m. then in a group;
REGISTRATION: The selected candidates will be contacted by email and telephone. (by 29/09/2023 at 8:00 PM) to attend the first day of the course day 02/10/2023 at 09.30 on the online platform after sending the entry link.
PROFESSOR: A graduate in German languages and literature working as an interpreter, she has significant experience gained between October 2013 and April 2014 at the SprachschuleAktiv, Munich (Germany) as a teacher of Italian to German students and of German to Italian students.

Using grammatical and syntax rules, participants will practice developing the four essential skills:
READ: Learn to read simple texts and find specific information in everyday materials, such as advertisements, programs, menus, and timetables. Learn to understand personal letters.
WRITE: Learn to take simple notes and write short messages on topics of immediate need. Learn to write personal letters.
HÖREN: Learn to understand frequently used expressions and words related to areas of immediate concern (for example, very basic personal and family information, shopping, local area, and employment). Learn to grasp the main point of short, simple, and clear messages and announcements.
SPEECH: learn to use a series of expressions and phrases to describe in simple terms one's family and other people, one's living conditions, one's educational background and one's current or most recent job.

HOTEL SIMULATIONS
The class is divided into groups of two. In each group, one student plays the role of the receptionist and the other plays the role of the customer. Each group is given a handout beforehand that briefly summarizes the situation to be simulated (requesting information about prices, requesting information about services offered, specific customer needs, complaints, etc.). Each simulation is conducted in turns and observed by all students; prompted and corrected by the teacher; and discussed in plenary at the end.
