Il cultural mediator is a professional who promotes interaction and dialogue between individuals and groups of different languages ​​and cultures.

It has the task, in all respects, of "mediating between cultures".

Specifically, the intercultural mediator is a professional who can intervene in the education and training system, health, justice, public administration, security and reception and in the private non-profit system. (Civil Protection, Red Cross, NGOs, secular and religious associations and cooperatives). It facilitates interaction between individuals or groups of different languages ​​and cultures, promoting the social inclusion of foreigners. In fact, the intercultural mediator acts as an interpreter. between immigrant teachers and students, between healthcare workers and refugees, and between public employees and asylum seekers. It ensures that the interlocutors correctly understand words, meanings, and concepts to ensure clear and effective dialogue.

The course aims to provide the linguistic skills appropriate to the professional figure indicated, falling within a CEFR language preparation level A2 to allow:

  • Reception of the asylum seeker
  • Identifying immigrant needs
  • Illustration of the services offered by the state
  • Assistance to asylum seekers at health facilities
  • Bureaucratic procedures

TARGET: The course aims to provide the linguistic skills appropriate to professionals in the field of intercultural mediation, following a line in line with that traced by theISFOL/INAPP.

At the end of the course, students will be able to interact with French-speaking immigrants from African countries. (Mali, Senegal, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Togo), acquiring the following skills:

" analysis and identification of the needs of asylum seekers

"linguistic intermediation

" accompaniment in individual paths

"filling out forms and documents

"facilitating exchanges between immigrant citizens and operators, services and institutions

"orientation of integration projects

"document translation

"basic legal and health information

Students will practice listening, comprehension, and text production. Multimedia resources will be used in the classroom.

PRICE: the course is free (financed by Formatemp);

DURATION: 152 hours from 13 SEPTEMBER to 05 NOVEMBER 2021 – 38 4-hour virtual classroom days;

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM LESSONS:

- every Monday from 15.00 pm to 19.00 pm;

- Tuesday to Friday from 09.30 am to 13.30 pm;

CERTIFICATE: of frequency Formatemp (minimum 70% of total hours including attendance at mandatory lessons);

MEMBERSHIPS: To submit your application you must register on the website http://www.ideeinsieme.it/index.php/register | and, once you have uploaded your personal documents and CV, type APPLY (by 18.00 pm on 09/08/2021)

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS: the course is aimed at candidates for temporary work missions (both unemployed and jobless) registered and selected by the ADECCO Employment Agency;
- you need to have a desktop PC (desktop), laptop or tablet with stable cable connection (HIND) or wi-fi, webcam and microphone;

SELECTION METHOD: Access to the course will take place through several preliminary steps:
- Correct submission of the required documentation;
- Analysis of the CV submitted;
- Check the connection devices to be carried out in videoconference;

SELECTIONS: Those who have joined will be contacted by email for confirmation. (by 08/09/2021 at 12:00) for the verification of videoconferencing connection devices scheduled for the day January 09, 2021, from 09:10.30 a.m. in a group;

PROFESSOR: A graduate in French and Japanese comparative languages ​​and literature with honors, working as an interpreter, she boasts significant experience as a language teacher at private institutes and international companies in the tourism sector.

EXERCISES AND SIMULATIONS

Using grammatical and syntax rules, participants will practice developing the four essential skills:

READ: understand public communications; read short factual texts and demonstrate understanding of the content; demonstrate understanding of language structure.

WRITING: use words appropriately and accurately in different written contexts and be able to produce variations on simple sentences.

ECOUTER: understand, by listening to short statements, the meaning of the dialogue in order to extract factual information (times, dates, etc.), show appreciation for the speakers' attitudes and intentions.

SPEAKER: interact in situations that simulate authentic communication to ask and understand questions and give appropriate answers; speak freely to express emotions, reactions, etc.; greet people and respond to greetings (in person and on the phone); introduce oneself; ask for and provide personal details; help others express their ideas by interrupting a conversation; initiate a new topic, change the subject, resume, or continue the topic.
