"Nuove Frontiere Lavoro", in collaboration with the training organization "Idee Insieme" and thanks to the "Formatemp" fund, is publishing a free course in "Secretarial Assistant with Commercial Functions in English, level B1" on an online platform.

The course aims to provide the skills in English language suitable for the professional figure English-Speaking Secretarial Assistant with Commercial Functions following a line conforming to that traced by theInApp (formerly ISFOL)

The modules that distinguish the course offer content related to the following topics:

  • knowledge of the English language for the acquisition of the four essential skills (SPEAKING, WRITING, LISTENING, READING) through the rules of grammar, syntax and phonetics consistent with achieving level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference;
  • acquisition of skills relating to the roles of secretarial staff and more specifically in written communication, de visu, as well as by telephone with English-speaking customers and suppliers. All this with particular reference to specific terminology, welcome formulas and in general to the management of the interlocutor as the simplest (provide information about the company you belong to, request information) to the more complex one (request quotes, propose offers, etc.).

TARGETS: The objective is to train professionals who, in English, can communicate effectively with English-speaking customers and suppliers externally. Specifically, the program aims to equip them with the skills to: provide information about the company; propose goods and services; request quotes; and manage orders.

From this perspective, the above-mentioned objective expresses English language skills in managing telephone and in-person communications, as well as in drafting business letters considering the type of information that must be provided.

The above is preparatory to the achievement of another objective, that is, to achieve knowledge of the English language in level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference, in the four essential skills (SPEAKING, WRITING, LISTENING, READING) through the exploration of rules of grammar, syntax and phonetics appropriate to reaching the indicated level.

The course is completed through the achievement of the objectives relating to the acquisition of rights and duties of temporary workers and of the general principles (general part) on health and safety in the workplace as provided by the State-Regional Agreements

PRICE: the course is free (financed by Formatemp);

DURATION: 120 hours from day 26 SEPTEMBER per day November 08 2022 – 30 days of 4 hours each VIRTUAL CLASSROOM (online);

CERTIFICATE: of frequency (minimum 70% of total hours including attendance at mandatory lessons);

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM LESSONS: Monday to Friday from 09.30 am to 13.30 pm;

MEMBERSHIPS: To submit your application you must register on the website http://www.ideeinsieme.it/index.php/register | and, once you have uploaded your personal documents and CV, type SEND (by 09/21/2022 at 5:00 PM);

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS: the course is aimed at candidates for temporary work missions (both unemployed and jobless) registered and selected from the Employment Agency;

- for foreigners, knowledge of the Italian language and grammar, even if NOT certified;
- basic knowledge of English;
- you need to have a desktop PC (desktop), laptop or tablet with a stable wired connection (HIND) or wi-fi, webcam and microphone;

SELECTION METHOD: Access to the course will take place through several preliminary steps:

- Correct submission of the required documentation;
- Analysis of the CV submitted;
- Check the connection devices to be carried out in videoconference;

SELECTIONS: Those who have joined will be contacted by email for the confirmation (by 21/09/2022 at 6:00 PM) of the verification of videoconferencing connection devices foreseen day 22/09/2022 from 10.00 am then in a group;

REGISTRATION: The selected candidates will be contacted by email and telephone. (by 23/09/2022 at 8:00 PM) to attend the first day of the course on the day 26/09/2022 at 09.30 on the online platform after sending the entry link.

PROFESSOR: The teacher chosen for the course, a graduate, in addition to having teaching experience in English language courses, is certified AIM AWARDS-ANGLIA – recognized by MIUR – level Advanced Business English (B2).

EXERCISES AND SIMULATIONS

Using grammatical and syntax rules, participants will practice developing the four essential skills:

READING: understand public communications; read short factual texts and show understanding of the content; demonstrate understanding of language structure

WRITING: use words appropriately and accurately in different written contexts and be able to produce variations on simple sentences.

LISTENING: understand, by listening to short statements, the meaning of the dialogue in order to extract factual information (times, dates, etc.), show appreciation of the speakers' attitudes and intentions.

SPEAKING: interact in situations that simulate authentic communication to ask and understand questions and give appropriate answers; speak freely to express emotions, reactions, etc.; greet people and respond to greetings (in person and on the phone); introduce oneself; ask for and provide personal details; help others express their ideas by interrupting a conversation; initiate a new topic, change the subject, resume, or continue the topic.

Duties and Functions of the English-Speaking Secretarial Clerk with Commercial Functions

MEETING AND WELCOMING ENGLISH-SPEAKING PEOPLE (Welcome people from England): structuring conversations in various work situations aimed at welcoming guests during meetings, collaborations, and sales transactions; managing groups during company visits.

TELEPHONE ENGLISH (Make and receive calls in English): managing incoming and outgoing calls, formal requests and responses, making and canceling appointments, taking notes, etc.

WRITING EMAILS (Emailing) in English: standards and conventions in reference to different recipients.

DRAFTING in English OF FORMAL AND INFORMAL TEXTS (Producing formal and informal texts).

PRESENTATION in English OF YOUR COMPANY (The company presentation): models to adopt and standards to respect

DESCRIPTION IN ENGLISH OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICES DURING MEETINGS, FAIRS AND EVENTS (Product launch during meetings, conferences and fairs) : models to adopt, and standards to respect.

BUSINESS LANGUAGE ANALYSIS (business language) In English: requests for information, orders, shipments, and complaint handling; negotiating, reaching agreements, making/accepting/rejecting offers.

GRAMMATICAL INSIGHTS

Teaching will be conducted using an active methodology. Thanks to the use of the online platform, multimedia elements will be displayed during lessons. (audio, video, slides, shared whiteboard), with the aim of involving the entire audience. Role-play sessions are also planned. (role playing game) which will allow students to immerse themselves in real situations.
