The temporary employment agency "Nuove Frontiere Lavoro spa", in collaboration with the training organization "Idee Insieme soc.coop.soc." and thanks to the "Formatemp" fund, is publishing a Visual Communication and Graphic Design Illustrator course (online) – Free
Graphic designers are typically employed within large corporations, advertising agencies, or graphic design studios. They must possess a strong understanding of communication and the visual arts, as well as integrated graphic composition techniques, as well as an innate creativity.
The specific content of the training program focuses on the ability to: synthesize an emotion, a concept, or a line of reasoning in the form of an image, graphic, or illustration; analyze and study a client's requests and ideas, both in relation to specific competitors and in translating those ideas into a coherent message with a strong graphic/creative impact, enabling the implementation of any advanced communications project.
TARGETS:
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
- Cultivate and develop your creativity;
- To convey an emotion, a concept, a reasoning in the form of an image, graphic or illustration;
- Apply the fundamental techniques of visual communication and graphic design;
- Manage any work requests in the field of visual communication;
- Create integrated advertising campaigns and create graphic designs of any kind.
Specifically, students will have acquired the ability to:
- decode the intrinsic messages that underlie visual communication.
- study and analyze a brief
- define the goals of a project, study the target audience and examine the competition;
- use the techniques of brainstorming to define the contents of the communication
- to make a brand, design a logo, formulate the verbal brand
- plan an integrated advertising campaign
- analyze and identify the strengths of the advertising project;
- create advertising posters;
- create advertising brochures and flyers

- study and create graphic projects for magazines, illustrated books and fiction
- build and customize packaging
- create a personal portfolio
- write a story, a screenplay and a storyboard for a commercial
- know the regulations for the protection of privacy and copyright of images;

DURATION: 152 HOURS Since the day 7 APRIL per day May 29 2026 – 38 days of VIRTUAL CLASSROOM (Online) for 4 hours;
CERTIFICATE: of frequency (minimum 70% of total hours including attendance at mandatory lessons);
VIRTUAL CLASSROOM LESSONS: from Monday to Friday from 14.00 pm 18.00;

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS: the course is aimed at candidates for temporary work missions (both unemployed and jobless) registered and selected by the Employment Agency;
- for foreigners, knowledge of the Italian language and grammar, even if NOT certified;
- you need to have a desktop PC (desktop), laptop or tablet with a stable wired connection, webcam and microphone;
SELECTION METHOD: Access to the course will take place through several preliminary steps:
- Correct submission of the required documentation;
- Analysis of the CV submitted;
- Check the connection devices to be carried out in videoconference;
SELECTIONS: Those who have joined will be contacted by email for confirmation. (by 02/04/2026 at 12:00) of the verification of videoconferencing connection devices foreseen day 03/04/2026 from 10.30 am onwards in groups;
REGISTRATION: The selected candidates will be contacted by email and telephone. (by 03/04/2026 at 8:00 PM) to attend the first day of the course on March 07, 2026, at 04:14.00 PM on online platform after sending the entry link.
Course modules
1.1
Visual communication
- The principles of visual communication (What is visual communication, what are visual contents, what is the power of images and videos, the history of visual communication, the visual message, the meaning and functions of messages.
- Decoding and breaking down a message: the textures, the shapes, the structures, the modules and the movement.
- Gestalt psychology and visual perception: Reading a graphic text: balance, harmony, and contrast. Rhetorical figures.
- The history of advertising: From the appearance of the first advertisements to the birth of agencies. The visual arts and the communications revolution. The evolution of advertising posters from the early 800th century to the present day. The constituent elements of design.
- Color and perception: thecolor theory, color contrasts, color psychology, RGB colors, four-color process and Pantone colors.
- The lettering. Analysis and history. Classifications, anatomy, drawing, compositional criteria. Lettering as an image.
- The advertising images: photography, classic, photographic and vector illustrations.
- From brainstorming to brand creation: Meaning and historical analysis of the most famous logos in use. Deconstruction of the intrinsic messages of the shapes and study of their graphic declinations on various media.
- Creating a logo, from the brief to the idea: subject, target, positioning, communication objectives, information gathering, marketing principles.
- The advertising campaigns. Product and awareness campaigns. Study and historical analysis of advertising languages across various media. Copywriting and visualization. Techniques for stimulating creativity.
- From composition to graphic layoutPerceptual organization, spatial composition, compositional rules, balance, weight, and rhythm, media formats, and the golden ratio.
- Visual communication and contemporary art. New trends in the visual arts. Reading and decoding different artistic languages and the importance of historical and sociological contextualization.
2.2
Graphic design with Adobe Illustrator
- Creating content with basic shapes
- Rhetorical figures and Gestalt psychology in graphic design
- The color and the lettering
- Creating impactful vector illustrations
- Interaction between Illustrator and Photoshop
- Study and analysis of a brief, definition of the project's objectives, target analysis and competitor analysis
- Creation of an advertising poster and a related brochure
- Brainstorming to define the contents of the communication
- Building a brand, creating a logo and formulating a verbal brand
- Design an integrated advertising campaign: from brand and logo creation to posters, flyers, newspaper ads, banner ads, and social media posts.
- Design and composition. Choosing the format, defining the layout and grids, using white space, and structuring the layout. The golden ratio, the two-thirds rule, and designing for modular structures.
- Hierarchy. Creating order with typography, color, and scale.
- Creation of a graphic design for the production of a magazine.
- Packaging Design. From label design to the creation and production of custom packaging.
