Advertising photographers are generally employed within large corporations, advertising agencies, or graphic design studios. They must have expertise in photographic techniques and a knowledge of the visual arts, as well as an innate creative spirit.
Learning outcomesThe course's objective is to train highly specialized professionals capable of successfully completing advertising photography projects from the initial stages to print. Photographers must therefore possess advanced knowledge of professional photography, the ability to source materials, set up and manage a photo shoot, and develop an image through to the completion of the advertising project. Proficiency with image development and editing software is also required.
ISFOL data identifies among the professional skills of a photographer the ability to photograph people, environments, objects, and commercial products for artistic, documentary, and advertising purposes.
Photographers develop negatives, perform photo retouching and manipulation of the acquired images and print the photographs taken, inspect, maintain and operate electronic and optical equipment and systems.
At the end of the course the advertising graphic designer will be able to:
- Learn the fundamental techniques of advertising photography and photographic development
- Set up and manage a photographic set.
- Create an advertising image using the most advanced application software.
The completed advertising project will serve as a portfolio for students to showcase their technical and creative skills, enabling them to better market their acquired skills in the job market. The final project will be delivered to all students on CD in high definition.
