Of Figure advertising photographer They generally work within large corporations, advertising firms, or graphic design studios. Advertising photographers must have skills in photographic techniques and knowledge of the visual arts, as well as an innate creative spirit.

Course objective is to form a highly skilled figure specialized Able to execute an advertising photography project from the initial stage to print. The photographer therefore requires knowledge of the advanced rules of professional photography, the ability to source materials, set up and manage a photo shoot, and develop an image through to the completion of the advertising project.

At the end of the course the advertising photographer will be able to:

  • Apply the fundamental techniques of advertising photography and photographic development;
  • Set up and manage a photographic set;
  • Create an advertising image.

Specifically, students will have acquired the ability to:

  • filming people and environments;
  • create still lifes of products to be marketed;
  • create product images for e-commerce;
  • plan an advertising campaign, create the images, identify the claim
  • post-produce the images created;
  • prepare files for successful printing;
  • know the regulations for the protection of privacy and copyright of images;
  • identify the right compensation for the work performed;
  • photograph objects made of different materials (glass, reflective objects, metals);
  • analyze and identify the strengths of an advertising image;
  • convey the advertising message unambiguously to the identified target.

DURATION: 120 hours from 24 March al 4 June 2025 - 26 total classroom days of 4 hours and two of 8 hours;

CERTIFICATE: attendance (min. 70% of total hours)

CLASSROOM LESSONS: the lessons are Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 09.30am to 13.30pm and for two days too 14.00-18.00;

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS: the course is aimed at candidates for temporary work missions (both unemployed and jobless) registered and selected by theEmployment Agency;

- for foreigners, knowledge of the Italian language and grammar, even if NOT certified;

- you need to have a desktop PC (desktop), laptop or tablet with a stable wired connection, webcam and microphone;

Images and visual arts, photography

  • Photographic composition
  • Lighting in the studio
  • The various types of saving depending on the file destination
  • Legislation on photography
  • Notes on the press
  • Assignment of assessment shots of the topics covered by the teacher, carried out independently by the students
  • Analysis and commentary of the images taken

EXERCISES AND SIMULATIONS

Using the theoretical rules learned, participants will have to demonstrate that they understand and comprehend:

  • MACHINE SETUP: using the “manual” mode, students will be able to set the right settings for each type of brightness and scene;
  • CHOOSING THE RIGHT OBJECTIVE: depending on the scene you will acquire the ability to identify the right lens for taking the shot;
  • THE EXHIBITION: by using the internal and possibly external exposure meter, students will therefore be able to avoid underexposure and overexposure;
  • THE FOCUS: Choosing between manual focus or autofocus will allow you to learn how to always get sharp subjects.
  • TAKING PHOTOGRAPHS: Once the students have learned the basic techniques, they will independently take original shots outside of class hours, which will be analysed and commented on by the teacher.

Shooting and creating a photographic project

  • Identification and characteristics of the equipment (flash, continuous lights, softboxes, etc.) of a photographic studio (Laboratory)
  • Use of equipment
  • Setting up a photographic set
  • Positioning of lights in relation to the object to be photographed
  • Portrait types: full-length, medium shot, half-length and close-up
  • Identifying the technique to be used in relation to the subject/object to be photographed
  • Professionals present on the photo set: Digital Assistant; Hair Stylist, MUA, etc.
  • Conception and choice of the photographic project to be created
  • Project Planning: Time, Costs, and Profits
  • The Moodboard
  • Drafting a storyboard to define communication objectives;
  • Divide the class into working groups and assign the shots to be taken.
  • Verification and analysis of photographs taken by students;
  • Image processing before and after the advent of digital;
  • Differences between Raw and JPEG files. The digital negative: from the "raw" file to the image ready for post-production.

EXERCISES AND SIMULATIONS

All the topics listed will be covered in a specially equipped laboratory. The photographic project will be carried out by dividing participants into working groups. Plenary discussions will allow for problem-solving and collective participation.
