Tailoring Operator: From Pattern Making to Garment Creation (In-Person) In-person training Free Formattemp In progress

"Nuove Frontiere Lavoro", in collaboration with the training organization "Idee Insieme", publishes a course "Tailoring Operator: from the paper pattern to the creation of the garment" in person with the help of laboratory classrooms and funded by the Forma.Temp fund.

The course aims to provide the skills required for garment manufacturing. The indicated competency units refer to two of the expected outcomes (RA2 and RA3) related to the ADA (05.02.10 - Design and Tailored Garment), the sequence (Design, Tailored Garment, and Repair of Garments), the process (Production of Clothing and Home Products), and the SEP (05 - Textiles, Clothing, Footwear, and Fashion System) of the Atlas of Work. The course is held at the Sartoria di Idee Insieme workshop located at Via Ferrante Imparato, 192 - San Giovanni a Teduccio (Naples), within the Malvagni building (part of Centro Mercato 2), with the equipment and tools necessary for effective implementation of the training program.

A clothing tailor oversees the process of making and repairing clothing, from the packaging to the finishing stage. They prepare the machinery and tools required for the process and ensure their routine maintenance, identify and select suitable materials for the garment, and perform the sewing, joining, finishing, ironing, labeling, and folding of finished garments. They primarily work as employees of small and medium-sized clothing companies, but may also be self-employed if they own a tailoring workshop.

OBJECTIVES: The aim of the course is to enable participants to acquire the technical and practical skills necessary for the creation of a semi-finished garment and its subsequent completion, through the correct preparation of materials and machinery, the development of the paper pattern, the cutting of different materials and the finishing and ironing operations, based on the intermediate tests carried out.

Specifically, the student will be able to:

• Create the semi-finished garment by preparing the necessary materials and machinery, developing the paper pattern and cutting the different materials

• Complete the garment by finishing and ironing it based on the intermediate tests carried out
